Eddie Howe, the manager of Newcastle, has urged his players to concentrate on securing another trip to Wembley, rather than dwelling on the one they’ve already booked.

Newcastle is preparing to face Brighton on Sunday in the fifth round of the FA Cup, aware that they will play Liverpool in the EFL Cup final on March 16.

Howe has emphasized both cup competitions since taking over in November 2021 and is determined to avoid any distractions as he aims for a place in the quarter-finals.

He said, "I am solely focused on the FA Cup. Clearly, it is a major competition, one of the tournaments we’ve tried to focus on again, like the EFL Cup."

He added, "We understand the importance of every game. We don’t take it lightly; we recognize the responsibility on our shoulders. We would love to get back to Wembley if we can."

He continued, "It will be a tough game. Brighton is playing at a fantastic level, and they are a dangerous team with many talented attacking players, so I think it will be a great cup match."

He confirmed, "It’s fantastic for us. We want the extra matches. We’ve always said we love the big games, which is why we’re here, and the bigger the match, t

he better."
