Barcelona head coach Hans Fleck has decided to give one of the team's hardworking players a break ahead of their clash with Real Sociedad, scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday, on matchday 26 of La Liga.

According to the Spanish newspaper Sport, Alejandro Balde will not start in the upcoming match after playing four full games in a row.

Instead, Fleck plans to start Gerard Martin, who is increasingly earning the trust of the German coach while steadily improving and adapting to the competition.

Martin has also extended his contract with Barcelona until 2028, proving himself to be a dependable option with a playing style distinct from Balde’s.

Noted for his defensive solidity and strength in one-on-one duels, Gerard Martin is also gradually building his attacking confidence.

Additionally, defender Ronald Araujo is considered a strong candidate to return to Barcelona’s starting lineup after spending the last five matches on t

he bench.
